Part of the CSR family, our Construction Systems Business Unit comprises of Cemintel™ Fibre Cement Systems, CSR Hebel and AFS Walling solutions. We manufacture and market a full range of products for residential and commercial applications including a large range of products and systems that cover internal linings, residential and commercial façades, flooring, and innovative proprietary wall and framing systems. We are a high growth business area, with the desire to continue to build solutions. 

The Opportunity 

Based at our facility in Minto, this dynamic position encompasses both supervising production crews on a continuous 24/5 roster and managing safety, product quality, performance, culture and improvement programs.

This fantastic opportunity for a highly versatile Shift Supervisor to lead, support and guide our close knit team, provides the responsibility to ensure we achieve CSR’s expectations in realizing production excellence, customer service and profit for our AFS site. 

You can make your mark on the business through the following critical areas: 

  • Lead Safety, Health and Environment programs on the floor to improve the plant's safety performance and culture;
  • Improve operational performance to deliver Production KPIs (e.g. quality, scrap and output);
  • Lead cultural change in the factory, including improving skill levels and maintaining training requirements of direct reports;
  • Induct new employees and contractors;
  • Problem solving and root cause analysis;
  • Implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles;
  • Effective utilisation of labour and materials on site to meet the schedule;
  • Work closely with and maintain good working relationships with the engineering & safety teams, including operations staff.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this leadership role you will be known for your commitment to safety and passion for quality; you will be motivated by developing a team and ideally have:

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a continuous manufacturing environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team with strong safety leadership skills;
  • Supporting qualifications or trade certificate and a mechanical aptitude (preferred);
  • Excellent computer skills with exposure using SAP;
  • Strong written and verbal communications with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels;
  • Hands on approach, strong problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
