Customer Service Officer – Yarraville

Our Interior Systems business is the Australian market leader in the manufacture and distribution of Gyprock™ plasterboard, Cemintel™ Fibre Cement and Himmel™ ceiling systems, for use in a wide range of residential and commercial construction applications.

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • The target is to ensure consistent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with account mangers through open and interactive communication.
  • Meet personal/sales support team targets/quotas.
  • Handle customer enquiries, managing and maintaining customer pricing and technical support, problem solving, managing customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives to all requests within strict time limits
  • Follow CSR communication procedures, guidelines and policies

About you

You are looking for an exciting, yet challenging role and have an understanding of the building industry and are passionate about service outcomes. You are:

  • An upbeat, proactive and courteous person with a can-do attitude
  • Able to work well under pressure and multi-task, with a high attention to detail
  • A quick learner with a desire to build a career in the Customer Service sector
  • Extremely organized and skilled in managing time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Have intermediate computer skills
  • Intrinsically motivated

Skills & Experience

  • A genuine passion for providing exceptional / consistent service outcomes
  • The ability to handle objections and use your consultative skills to come up with solutions
  • A knack for learning new systems, products and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with a warm manner
  • Resilience and the ability to keep up in a fast paced and busy environment 
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Customer orientated and ability to adapt/respond to different types of situations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of SAP, CRM and Microsoft tools would be advantageous
  • Availability to work a rotating roster between 6.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday
