The opportunity

Responsibilities & Duties

Reporting to the site engineering manager, you will be responsible for supervising electrical maintenance and projects at PGH’s Oxley manufacturing plant. The Oxley manufacturing plant has a diverse range of process control and automation equipment including PLCs, robotics, SCADA and HMI. This role presents an excellent opportunity to be involved in the maintenance and development of these systems and future upgrades.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Five-days/week dayshift work, leading a team of four shift electricians
  • Actively participate in the planning / scheduling requirements to achieve KPI targets
  • Actively participate in capital project planning and lead implementation
  • Actively participate in routine and annual shutdown planning and lead implementation
  • Purchase materials and supplies to enable maintenance and project work to be carried out
  • Optimise usage of the PM system and effectively use data to improve reliability
  • Effective cross functional communications between Production and Maintenance teams

What will make you a great fit for the role:

  • A strong safety ethos and work ethic
  • A current QLD electrical fitter/mechanic licence
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing/production environment
  • Experience in heavy industry and knowledge of maintenance and plant equipment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to start work at 6 am, Monday to Friday with hours as required to perform the duties of the role (on average 45 hrs/week)
  • Flexibility to be available on call when required on occasion

Ideally you also possess:

  • Experience with Siemens PLCs, SCADA, HMIs and their programming environments
  • Experience with Schneider PLC’s, Historian and programming software
  • Experience with Fanuc robotics
  • Experience with servo-drives, in particular SEW
  • Familiarity with SAP PM or similar CMMS
  • Experience with writing / modifying code highly regarded
  • An associate degree in electrical engineering would be highly regarded.
