The Opportunity 

We are seeking a highly motivated, sales focused and experienced Store Manager to oversee the smooth operations of the Hornsby team at our Gyprock Trade Centre. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for identifying and exploring new opportunities for CSR to grow the business by selling the benefits of our products to builders, contractors, architects, designers and DIY customers.

Treating our business like your own, you will work closely with your customers to understand their businesses and help them to succeed, whilst leading our close-knit team to provide exceptional customer experience and ensure their continual success and development.

A day in the life of a Store Manager…

  • Successfully manage the end to end sales process for account customers: qualifying customer needs and budget, presenting appropriate solutions, negotiating and closing new business;
  • Ensure the store meets budget, including reviewing the areas of potential store improvement;
  • Promote and manage catalogue sales and campaigns in the store to grow category sales and maintain margin;
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers and resolve complaints and issues as they arise;
  • Work with the Area Manager to ensue inventory is executed in line with national direction and improvement opportunities are identified;
  • Ensure compliance in retail standards and behaviours, including housekeeping, merchandising and store presentation;
  • Monitor and coach employees, being an effective and visible leader who can develop a high performing team that is motivated and engaged;  
  • Ensure all HR processes are completed correctly;
  • Ensure compliance to company WHSE standards and commitment to developing an uncompromising safety culture.

  • Be experienced in Store Management and the ability to coach and develop others;
  • Demonstrate People Leadership Skills with proven ability in getting the best results and standards from your team;
  • Have high energy and enthusiasm and exceptional communication;
  • Be physically fit, as there is some manual labour and have a forklift ticket;
  • Possess good computer skills with knowledge of SAP highly advantageous;
  • Be open to new and innovative ideas, getting the job done and having fun along the way;
  • Hold safety as a high value.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday: 6:00am to 4:00pm; alternate Saturday Mornings: 6:00am to 11:00am, paid as overtime.
