The opportunity!

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a highly versatile Engineering Coordinator to coordinate Mechanical Engineering activities on site and provide Engineering leadership/ Supervision to the sites  mechanical trade‚Äôs on a day to day basis and ensure safety standards are met at all times against critical deadlines.  

  • Lead, coordinate and manage the day to day activities of the Mechanical trades
  • Lead and manage engineering improvement activities to improve current process capability within the site
  • Work closely with and maintain good working relationships with production teams
  • Attend to breakdowns and investigate and delegate tasks as required
  • Investigate breakdowns using Lean and continuous improvements tools to identify root causes
  • Manage improvement upgrade projects and minimise downtimes to the lowest possible time.
  • Coordinate and delegate work orders and work closely with the Maintenance Planner to ensure works progress smoothly
  • Lead breakdown investigations and implement PM strategy change as required
  • Take a lead role in asset care and maintenance strategy and PM formulation
  • Lead and manage engineering improvement activities
  • Manage external contractors

Skills & Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of maintenance processes within a continuous manufacturing environment
  • An Engineering background is essential
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and processes an ability to use these to improve performance highly desirable
  • A technical mindset and the ability to learn and make sense of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and trouble shoot any issues that arise. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with PC and MS suite. SAP experience is desirable.
  • Self-motivation and a high regard for attention to detail and punctuality
  • Strong team orientation and a desire for working in an innovative environment that encourages new ideas

Some overtime is required and the ability to work over Christmas shut down periods is required for any shut-down works.
