The Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work towards the achievement of operational KPI’s in line with the business strategy, profit, plant and forecasts for the Scoresby plant.  You will ensure consistent product quality is achieved and encourage continuous improvement, business practices, performance and customer satisfaction.  Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the production team to ensure the development and maintenance of safe, low cost, efficient and quality production units
  • Identify and implement cost reduction programs throughout production
  • Implement operating plans, budgets, capital expenditure proposals and any recommend changes
  • Provide staff with challenging obtainable performance targets in accordance with company requirements
  • Monitor and control stock levels of production related consumables in line with minimum stock holding levels
  • Daily, weekly and monthly production reports
  • Compliance to SAP requirements and the integrity of SAP information
  • Attend EH&S training and observe company EH&S policies and all applicable safety regulations
  • Identify and rectify any unsafe conditions or practices
  • Champion a safety first culture within production in pursuit of a zero harm environment

To be successful 

We are looking for someone who is respected for their consultative style, has a strategic mindset and ability to achieve production excellence.  You will be motivated by managing a team and be safety focused.  Ideally you demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Manufacturing /Supply Chain / Engineering (Postgrad in Operations Management desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years production management experience within industrial manufacturing operations
  • Computer literacy (Word and Excel)
  • Experience in leading or managing a team
  • Sound understanding of computerised maintenance management systems
  • Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and knowledge of wide variety of equipment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders at all levels
