Shift Electrical Technician – Yarraville

Part of the CSR family our Interior Systems Business Unit consists of market-leading brands such as Gyprock Plasterboard, Martini and Himmel Interior Systems. We manufacture and market a full range of products for residential and commercial applications. We are a leader in providing a full suite of interior lining solutions across the building industry.

The Opportunity

We currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Shift Electrical Technician to join our friendly and supportive team. Working closely to an experienced engineering group you will maintain and optimise electrical and automation assets.

Based at our recently modernised manufacturing and warehouse facility in Yarraville, this position is offered on a rotating roster with 12-hour shifts covering a 24-hour operation.

Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting into the Electrical Supervisor, your duties and responsibilities will be varied but will include:

  • Installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to implement the plant maintenance and improvement strategy.
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting to limit downtime and improve the operational effectiveness of plant equipment including predictive and preventative maintenance measures.
  • Provide the ‘first point of call’ for technical issues in the plant.
  • Provide technical expertise to Engineering, Production, Logistics and Process Improvement Staff.

Skills and Qualifications required:

To be considered for the Shift Electrical Technician role you must have:

  • Strong technical background with an electrical ‘A Grade’ trade qualification.
  • Experience working rotating shifts is preferred.
  • Experience with PLC systems would be a definite advantage.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and interest.
  • A solid background working in an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • A hands-on attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
